Rain sleeping

Lovely, the sound of falling rain

brushes the light of sleep from off the trees

and brings the dark, deep feeling night

up out of all the thick unheeding leaves

all fall- deep, thick as amber

of days in late September’s beauty

fall into deep December

cool and in the night’s sleep- not white at all.
