A couple irregularly
matched, he far older,
she carrying a miracle,
get caught too far
from home. Over a
stable warmed only
by cattle’s breath a star
hovers, too close, too bright,
filling with terror the hearts
of plain men. Angel song
drowns out her cries.
They subside to a lulling
as hope comes into the
heaving human world.

The poem looks absolutely beautiful with its lovely illustration. Thank you so much, Millie.
An amazingly hopeful telling of the Christmas story.. Just right for a world in need of hope. Terrific!
